8. Gates to clear

An integrated water tank beside electronics creates leak, pump-prime and cleaning failure modes; a decorative shell with hidden wet paths will punish assembly fast.
Path: Build EVT units using an off-the-shelf 5 V diaphragm pump, silicone tube and removable bottle; run 500-cycle pump, tip-over and 24-hour leak tests, then design a two-piece reservoir with ultrasonic-welded wet seams and 100% end-of-line flow/leak testing.
8.2 [Certification]
Global sale is workable only if the product stays USB-C SELV; putting mains power inside a splash-prone alarm clock turns compliance into a much uglier morning.
Path: Use an externally certified USB power supply and test the device for EU CE EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and RoHS 2011/65/EU, US FCC Part 15B, and UKCA EMC/RoHS where sold; obtain IEC 62368-1 safety evaluation through an NRTL/CB lab for retailer acceptance.
